 A troop of Rhesus monkeys roam all over Shimla, creating a real nuisance to local residents.

Shimla is a large city with a sprawling population of over a million scattered on the Himalayan foothills.
In 1864, Shimla was declared the summer capital of British India. By 1947, Shimla played a very important role in the Independence and partition of India and Pakistan at the nearby Viceregal Lodge
