Both buildings were built by the British in the 18th century. The Church is the second oldest church of North India

Shimla is a large city with a sprawling population of over a million scattered on the foothills In 1864, Shimla was declared the summer capital of British India. By 1947, Shimla played a very important role in the Independence and partition of India and Pakistan at the nearby Viceregal Lodge
