 Aranda Noorah Alsagoff. It is named after the daughter of a orchid grower, Syed Yusof Alsagoff. He was president of the Orchid Society of South East Asia.
The orchid was first registered in 1972 and the hybrid helped put Singapore on the orchid map. Today it is still an important cut-flower for export. The orchid can be found in the National Orchid Garden within the Botanic Gardens in Singapore
