The Queen's Swan Marker, Davidi Barber on his skiff leading the way along the River Thames in Britain.

The swan was dealt with by members of the Swan Uppers on the River Thames at Marlow, Britain.

The colourful and traditional ‘Swan Upping’ is an annual event in England dating back to medieval times.

The event takes place with a flotilla of six traditional Thames wooden rowing skiffs on the third Monday in July starting from Sunbury on the river Thames, west of London to Abingdon near the famous university spire city of Oxford.
The journey takes five days.

All swans (Britain’s largest bird) are owned by the Crown.

The Queen’s swan marker wears a bright scarlet jacket and white cap. David Barber, Queen’s swan marker and his boat crew carry out the task on giving all swans and cygnets caught on the Royal river, a health check, ringed and registered.
