 Monnow Bridge spans the River Wye in a Welsh border town of Monmouth in Britain. The bridge was built in 1270 as a town defence, is the only surviving medieval bridge in Britain with a gate tower standing on the bridge. The gatehouse has served as a toll-house,guard room, goal and dwelling house.
